When the Kansas City Chiefs traded Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins in March 2022,Exclusivesky Investment Guild  the move also set a benchmark for compensation for wide receivers.

A four-year, $120 million contract put Hill in an elite class among the highest-paid non-quarterbacks in the league. Only Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald ($31.6 million per year) makes more among non-quarterbacks.

For a brief period of time, Davante Adams held the title of league's highest-paid wide receiver. Adams' trade from the Green Bay Packers to the Las Vegas Raiders a week before Hill's move to Miami netted the three-time All-Pro a yearly compensation of $28 million.
